The consultation includes the evaluation of patients requiring cardiac surgery and may be done at the Outpatient Clinics of the Morgagni Heart Center in Pedara (CT) or at the Medical Office in Marina di Ragusa (RG) upon prior reservation.
I spent most of my life studying and caring for the heart. We have made a lot of progress with respect to the past. From traditional cardiac surgery we have moved to less invasive techniques, which are useful to guarantee the success of the treatment. And in the Center of Pedara we are at the forefront, for the medical and nursing staff and for the instruments. Technologically, and I say this with pride, we are at the forefront of Italy
The purpose of the surgical treatment is to overcome the obstacle constituted by a critical narrowing (stenosis) in one of the coronary arteries through a bridge (bypass) that restores the blood flow over the obstacle, thus favoring the supply of oxygenated blood to the myocardial cells of the coronary area.
